Happy 2013! And Happy Chinese New Year!

Hi all......Happy 2013!  It was some kind of year last year with good and bad experiences.....with laughter and sadness.......with hope and struggles......one thing I know for sure, life comes at you and you have to deal with whatever comes your way.  There is no such thing as a "normal life."  So with that said, hope we all enjoy life......don't procrastinate.....laugh a lot......be healthy......enrich friendships.....and take of each other.

And Happy Chinese New Year....the year of the snake! Over 1.3 billion people in China and millions of Chinese around the world celebrate the first day of the Chinese New Year today.  It's the most important of Chinese holidays, kicking off a celebration that lasts for 15 days and culminates with the Lantern Festival.  So I wish you "Gong Xi Fa Ca"....the traditional Chinese New Year greeting that means "wishing you prosperity" in Mandarin.

Summer Read!

Have you ever browsed thru the books at the library and randomly find one interesting to read?  That's my choice for this summer's read ,"Blue Asylum".  The author is Kathy Hepinstall, who is an award- winning creative director and advertising writer.  She  was born in Texas.

So off I go to start my summer read.......

Memorial Day......a day to remember, a day to give thanks

Thank you to all the men and women of the Armed Forces who gave their lives in defense of our country.  

Acceptance.....

Sometimes you have to man up and accept the inevitable.  That's what I am doing and I finally got some reading glasses. What was the last straw for me was the other night when Jackie, Tanya, and I were at a restaurant and I was trying to read the menu. Tanya noticed I could use some help reading, so she said to me try my reading glasses.  When I did, OMG, it was like night and day!  I asked her what strength they were and they are 1.75 strength (I don't know if that's really bad or not).  


I went to Target and got these in the picture.  They are Foster Grant's and purple (of course) with a little stylish color on the sides.  Love them!  They are just for reading I want you to know, cause I can see real good otherwise.  Just saying.....

Zion National Park....and some relaxation

Took a trip to Zion National Park and Red Mountain Resort......just a short 2 hour trip to St. George, Utah.  Zion is beautiful and the resort was relaxing.  Took a tai-chi class and a chi ball class......interesting. Nice short get-away trip!

My Mom's birthday!

Today is my mom's 82nd birthday.  I love her to pieces.  She is so strong, so kind, so brave..........my inspiration. Happy Birthday to you Mom.  Love you!
