Going on a cruise!

This time tomorrow I will be on a cruise to the Caribbean!  Well needed vacation for some sun, adventure, and relaxation.  I will be on the Allure of the Seas which is one of the largest ships holding 6000 people.  This particular ship had its maiden voyage in December 2010 so relatively a brand new ship.  Can't wait!  I posted some pictures of the ship so you can see what I'll be on.  See you when I get back.......

South's Devastating Tornados

We hope and pray for everyone in the South effected by the devastating tornadoes. My sister-in-law, Tracy, is in Georgia and one hit about 30 minutes north of her.  Thank God she is fine  She has family members and friends in the area of Tennessee and Georgia. Her parents are fine and their home made it through, but their neighborhood was effected.  Her brother and his family had a tree fall and damaged one car.  Right now they have no power to their home. Her grandma's mobile home lost some shingles.  She is trying to gather clothes, blankets, water for the people effected.  If you want to donate, I will be collected clothes, towels, blankets, etc. to send up to her.  I will keep you posted on this.  For now, please say a prayer and keep all the people effected in your thoughts.

Happy Birthday Mom!

My mom turned 81 years old today.  So glad to celebrate her birthday with her.  She has had a rough last 2 years, still having some difficulties health-wise, but is one strong lady.  Had lots of fun spending the afternoon with her.  She got some beautiful flowers from her grandson, son, and daughter-in-law.  Bisquit and I got her some cute hair clips, pillow for her back, and cake......yummy red velvet bundt cake! She is an amazing woman. Doesn't she look fabulous for her age?  Happy birthday mom!

Destination Book Club - our next book........Greece!

Ready to eat Greek cuisine!
The next book we read for our book club is called, "Harlot's Sauce: A Memoir of Food, Family, Love, Loss, and Greece."  This book I enjoyed as I learned a lot about the culture and customs of Greece.  The main character, Patricia, is a native American who falls in love with Gregori, the gorgeous Greek.  Her father goes to extreme measures to stop her from marrying him and this is all the more reason she is determined to do so.  She ends up moving to Greece to be with Gregori.  Once there, she discovers that though she might not save her marriage, she just might save herself.

Opa! restaurant

My entree of shishkabob & vegies.....mmmmm
Last night, the group met at Opa! restaurant, voted as one of Las Vegas's best Greek restaurants. They have live entertainment and authentic Greek cuisine. Enjoyed the food and company.  Wonder where our next destination will be.......
